Bookazine Rout Lëns 2025: the district takes shape
Launch of the ROUT LËNS 2025 bookazine
IKO Real Estate announces the publication of the ROUT LËNS 2025 bookazine — Issue No. 5: “The Chronicle of a District / D’Chronik vun engem Quartier”. This bilingual edition looks back on a pivotal year for the project in Esch-sur-Alzette: after the phase dedicated to public realm works and infrastructure, the district is now entering a visible and structuring stage, with the first buildings beginning to rise.
2025: the project reaches a new milestone
This new issue highlights the tangible progress of the construction site and the next stages of development. The first block, covering 20,000 m², is now under construction, while the second block — comprising a student residence, a senior residence and a mixed-use building — is set to begin.
The objective is clear: to deliver more than 47 homes by the end of 2026, along with the first public spaces, alongside the development of the school complex led by the City of Esch-sur-Alzette.
A sustainable ambition at district scale
The bookazine also reaffirms the environmental commitments driving Rout Lëns: a clear trajectory focused on carbon efficiency, energy performance and innovation. Among the solutions presented, the project notably relies on an ambitious energy approach at district scale, as well as construction choices and systems designed to reduce the environmental footprint while ensuring quality of use.
A district built with and for its territory
Beyond the construction site, ROUT LËNS is also a project rooted in everyday life, heritage and local connection. This issue looks back on the key moments of 2025, the encounters, initiatives and collaborations that are helping the district move forward over time — with one strong conviction: to build a city at human scale, ambitious, sustainable and anchored in its context.
