The new sustainable, innovative, and resilient neighbourhood in Esch-sur-Alzette

Parking: Keeping cars out of sight

Although cars are not the priority in the district, they are still fully integrated into the overall mobility offer. The project includes 6 large underground car parks to accommodate drivers.

The new cross border road network aims to prioritise access from the north of Esch, helping to protect the city centre from through traffic.

The district also anticipates changing needs and behaviours in individual mobility. For example, electromobility and car sharing solutions are integrated into the project.

With multimodal transport encouraged, it will be easy to leave your car in the car park and explore the district on foot or by bike.

Urban Farming

  • 6,000 square metres to cultivate
This 6,000 square metre plot of cultivable land will be developed to provide fruits and vegetables to part of the local population. The urban farm will also serve an educational role by hosting workshops and training sessions.
  • A short supply chain approach
The aim is to create a fertile ecosystem that enables a producer to supply the neighbourhood through a short supply chain approach.

Rout Lëns

A Neighbourhood Driven by Commitment

Rout Lëns’s commitment to art, culture and sport is rooted in the vision of a neighbourhood that is not just a place to live, but a dynamic and interactive living space.

By investing in these areas, Rout Lëns is not merely creating an environment, but shaping a community where every resident can find their place, express themselves and contribute to a vibrant and sustainable urban fabric.

Sport and Commitment

Sport as a Pillar of Life

Sport plays a key role in Rout Lëns, where state of the art facilities and green spaces are designed to support an active lifestyle.

From multipurpose sports fields to cycle paths running through the district, Rout Lëns offers infrastructure that promotes movement and well being, strengthening the link between physical health and urban quality of life.
